Cold Laser Therapy

Cold Laser therapy uses wavelengths found just outside of the visible light spectrum, between red light and microwaves. Light energy causes photochemical changes within cells, releasing enzymes and helping the cells use energy more efficiently. The circulatory and lymphatic systems are also stimulated into action. Cold Laser therapy is ideal for acute situations, such as open wounds or injuries where the inflammation phase is just getting started, because there is no increase in temperature which could aggravate the condition. Even non-responsive or infected wounds are stimulated into the healing process by cold laser therapy which encourages the body’s natural process of removing waste, increasing repair activity and activating lymphocytes (white blood cells). This therapy is also used to activate acupressure points, relieve trigger points and reduce pain.
